In our house no walk is complete without a decent pub at the end of it. In fact we have been known to slow down the last couple of miles and "Whoops, just missed that train - better have a drink while we wait for the next one"
No surprise then that many of the ride2stride walks will end in pubs where the lovely Jeff and his friends will be music making. Today I had a ride up and down the line just checking out the facilities.

Stayed at the little campsite next to the Moorcock,just a short stroll to the Inn. Great food and drink.
Penrith Ramblers are leading a walk for ride2stride on May 7 - Bank Holiday Monday. It meets at Garsdale station, train to Kirkby Stephen then walk back over Mallerstang Edge to the Moorcook where there will be a music session in the bar. I think I'll put the tent up!
The Station Inn, Ribblehead: a pub with a view of a railway line; that's about as good as life gets.
Blea Moor signal box is one of the gricing fraternity's iconic photo locations. Did they inadvertently leave a 'k' off the end?

I was at the Crown on Saturday: Tried two beers, neither was well kept! :-( But their bacon baguette was fine. It's always disappointing when real ales are on but poorly presented.
However, the wines at Austwick were first class!
And the scenery. It's to die for up there...
